Feng Shui and the Wealth Corner

|

The planet Mercury is currently in retrograde phase until February 18th when it turns direct. Mercury rules communication of all sorts, transportation, and commerce. When it is in retrograde it is a perfect time to clean out the old to make way for the new. It is the perfect time to study our old patterns, limited belief systems, and to get rid of what no longer serves us. If we do our homework we can move forward when it is goes direct. Now is the time to clean out closets and drawers and cupboards, and it is a most auspicious time period to apply a little Feng Shui to your home. In this way you are preparing an energy pathway along which all new things can flow to you easily and effortlessly. Here we will be focusing on clearing a pathway to wealth and abundance.

Feng Shui means literally “wind and water.” It is an ancient Chinese methodology for bringing harmony into one’s environment by the placing, arranging, or removal of objects. The goal is to stimulate unimpeded “Chi” or “Qi,” which is basically “energy flow.” Ancient traditional Feng Shui practice included the use of maps, baguas, compasses, astronomy, forms of astrology, symbols, phases, and elements to determine fortunate placements. The basic Feng Shui that we will be referring to here is a simplified, Westernized version which uses what is known as a Bagua Map.

The octagonal Bagua map is a modern, fundamental Feng Shui tool used to determine favorable placement of items to stimulate Chi. To use the Bagua map, simply place it over the floor plan of your home, office, or any other space you want to apply Feng Shui principles to, with the career area over your front door or entryway. You can then figure out what areas need to be “cured” and what areas are already fine. For example, if you discover that you have a bathtub, sink, or toilet in your wealth area you might find that all your money is quickly disappearing “down the drain.” If you have your master bedroom in your relationship/marriage sector, you may have a happy relationship.

Since we are focusing on wealth and abundance here, it is helpful to know what to do if we find our “wealth” section in need of a cure or two. First of all, don’t panic if you have a bathroom in that area. If you do, there are many things you can do to stimulate the Chi of that area and effect a cure. For example, you can place a wind chime outside or inside the bathroom. You can make sure that you keep the door closed and place a mirror on the outside of the door. This is to deflect the “bad” Chi from that area. You can keep the drains and toilet lid closed so as not to encourage “money going down the drain.” You can decorate the bathroom using all or some of the colors that are considered fortunate for that area of the Bagua. In this instance those colors would be green, purple, and/or red.

For those that do not have a bathroom in this area, you also want to do everything you can to stimulate this area. The number one thing to do is free this area from all clutter. Nothing new can come in if there is no room for it to do so. Next, place objects in that area that are green, purple and/or red or decorate that section of your home in those colors. Examples of objects you could place there would be a nice leafy green healthy plant or tree, or a Feng Shui “money tree” made of citrine quartz or other crystals. You could even put a large amethyst crystal or a gold “wealth ship” there. You can also place in that section of your home an aquarium or fountain or anything that is a symbol of wealth and prosperity to you. Whatever you put there, keep it neat, clean, dust free and in good working order to keep the “flow” going. And it is a good practice when bringing any new object into your home to welcome the newcomer just as you would any honored guest. Thank it, bless it and treat it well. This act of gratitude begins to open up other pathways to abundance.
